Princess 500 tamd 72

I am looking at a princess 500 1993 but I rennetber Paul saying do not touch the 72 's is this still the case?

It's the 72, wasn't the best engine, the 73 was the first generation edc and a better bet.

Should I avoid the boat or allow some money to spend on the boat and engine?
The boat is in good condition and the engine is fitted with electric controls.
The boat is based in Europe but not too far.
