Did P45 were made in 1995 the princess website says they stop making them in 1992 ?

Hi. Tom unable to answer you specific question but can introduce you to couple of long term owners if you want any owner feedback or serious look round at a P45 ..Owners appear to love them.

As you know I have been looking for a few years now
Spec was:
newer than 1990
no aft cabin
over 40 foot
Genartor
So at last I found one but a bit confused since Princess web site does not mention 1995 at all
I have asked the broker for the HIN maybe that would shade a light?

also as advised by Paul avoided all TAMD72 s so this one is a 71 I hope he will approve.

Hi,
I worked for a Princess dealer during this era. You're quite right, the Princess 45 was replaced by the Princess 470 (which later became the 480 with an extended platform) in about 1992.
However the UK was in a big recession in the early nineties and if my memory serves me correctly, I recall one or two Princess 45s being held in stock by dealers for quite some while at the time before they were eventually sold. It's possible that this boat was first sold in 1995 (although that does seem a particularly long time). Equally it could simply be a mistake.
It certainly would not have been built in 1995 however.

This boat does have a massive swimming platform which I like , with the ladder coming out to the side.
I am due to see the boat on Wednesday and will report back, I take it that the HIN (Hull Idenfication will tell the full story?

There wasn't an extended platform on the (original MK1) Princess 45 so it's either a retro fit (quite possible of course) or it's not a Princess 45.
Scraping the depths of the 'little grey cells', I have a vague memory that the Princess 470 originally launched as a Princess 455 before the badges were changed very soon after to reflect the integral platform as all manufacturers were doing at the time. However whilst it had an integral platform, it wasn't extended - that came with the Princess 480 that replaced the 470 (same boat - extended platform).
Is there an advert for the boat you're going to see? I'd be interested to see it.

Just found it on Yachtworld. That's a retrofitted non standard bathing platform.
It's not one of the last that had sat in stock however as it has black saloon window frames - these changed to stainless steel frames as standard on later boats. Also that radar arch doesn't look quite right, I suspect that's a retro fit which would suggest it may have had the earlier type stainless steel arch (why change a GRP arch?).
My best guess is that it's a typo, and the boat is actually 1985, but it is just a guess. It will be intriguing to find out.

Engine vents are old style too - earlier boats had the flat covered ones like this boat, later boats were two long thick slots. If you put 'Princess 45' into Google images (or just look at the different Princess 45s on Yachtworld) you'll see the different styles.
From memory, and I might be a little out on this so I'm happy to be corrected:

The mystery deepens.....very suspicous of major retro fit hull modifications, a definate price reducer ?
Some rather horrid examples around curiously usually confined to "Med" boats including one Princess 33 with glassed hull moulding replacement swim platform.
Eye of the beholder perhaps ?

well I can not make up my mind was year is the boat but it also needs a lot of work,
Yard number is 1084 but no HIN number ?
The boat has lots of equipment but engines look neglected and lots of oil in bilges..
so found an other younger boat
