Princess 440

depending on budget also look at the 460 which the updated version of the 440. Be careful of early versions of EDC on the 440 which were not fully debugged in the mid 90's. The 440 is a large boat at nearly 49ft so look for the biggest engine possible, preferably 430hp or greater. A larger engine doesn't automatically translate to higher fuel consumption.

They go very well with TAMD 72 430hp in (don't think they fitted anything much larger in the 440, 460 had 480's I think).

Later boats had cherry wood rather than burr maple, cherry definitely the much preferred option.

If there are only two of you you will find the ride very good but if you have a crowd on the Flybridge they will want to jump ship in anything above a force 5 or even a 4 wind against tide.

The seats are typical 'Boat show design' and offer no back support, most face sideways and the back rest only reaches your waist.

Fantastic boats but you should seriously consider investing in some extra stainless for comfort in choppy seas.

The Hull is good it's just the seats that let it down.

Thanks for your views I have gone cold on the boat as I dont think it is quite what I was looking for and nor do I really want to change boat at the moment.

I agree with the views on engine size and flybridge seating , i have already considered raising my flybridge rails on my current F Sedan 36 which are precarious in rough weather.
