Hi all

Looking at a Princess 440 and noticed on detals the draft is only 1.02metres compared with a sealine F43 at 1.3metres is this right?

I am not sure the shafts and props offer much resistance to lateral forces, which is what we are talking about for the Sealine?

I have one of these and they are superb sea boats. Loads of accomodation. Decent flybridge.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Thanks David

We are in no hurry to find the right boat. I must say the 3rd cabin would be useful but not essential. There are a few 440s for sale at the moment with quite a big price difference! Any advise on what to look out for and what to avoid would be great.

As ever, the newer boat is usually a better buy. 1997 is the latest year.

Avoid lower power versions, you want TAMD72 EDC 430hp engines, or possibly the Caterpillar equivalent.

Also consider spec and electronics fitted. Any original electronics are likely to be obsolete.

Lastly the wood interior. Cherry is easiest on the eye and would be the best for resale. The birds eye maple looked great when new but yellows with age.

With regards to the 3rd cabin, the 440 is a much bigger boat than the 2 cabin 420/430. You are not losing space from other areas to fit in the 3rd cabin.
