Princess 435. £65 K

Friend just bought a slightly larger slightly newer Sunseeker, for slightly under half price.
Wish the vendor the best of luck; but there are not many people who desire an ageing Princess.

I bet it wasn't an aft cabin Sunseeker with anything like the space that 435 has. That's a huge amount of boat for the money! Rock solid build, big simple shaft drive diesels, lovely.

H,mm we will agree to differ on that. :)
Must confess did think they were fetching a lot more than that, but a websearch indicates there are a few around at that money.

The real problem will be the cost of keeping it somewhere, suspect buyer will be wanting to keep it in a marina.
A real alternative to the run of the mill Turbo 36.

I went into a pub in about 1984 with that interior.
£65k? But optimistic frankly

As you all know, I don,t really what I'm talking about but considering that I'm going to have to spend £30k+ for a 2003year S23 or slightly less for a yank boat boat of similar ilk, I'd say that's a lot of boat for £65k. After a hard inspection and some hard negotiating it could be a great deal at £55-58K.

Not idlf it doesn't run well, which the description of it being a Liveaboard boat might suggest.

This one has been on my watch list on the broker's site but we are not in a position yet to view (still in Florida awaiting Irma and condo sale, if one is left) Had trouble getting some answers from the owner via the broker and understand it was 'sold'' a while back but the buyers could not get finance in place I know not why. Personally not fond of the all electric cooking. If there are better available, PLEASE let me know by PM so I don't lose out as has happened now twice already after others read a post on here. We are looking for a (mobile capable) live aboard, but not a fixed box that is a money pit. Have several others to watch as more come on the market end of season.

We have three boats on our moorings up for sale, a Broom 38 (97K),a Turbo 36 ( £ ??) a P414 (too much money) and possibly one more elderly Broom fairly soon.
One or two due to bereavement and/or owners packing it in due to age.
Virtually nobody upgrading.
Only one is on active brokerage, the rest are merely "up for sale" by word of mouth .
Suspect virtually all marinas and boatyards have boats in a similar situation.

Its getting extensive real time coverage over here. Know the Miami area fairly well . Good Luck !

Not feeling so sorry for ourselves today, power came back late last night so had aircon again and got everything re-charging in case it goes again. No TV yet until the cable company get their act together but managed to watch 'Ghost' on DVD player yet again. Woopy G is hilarious and Demi the cutest lady:encouragement:

Still many thousands without power in Florida however and a lot of destruction. We had curfews imposed 7pm -9am, not that we wanted to go out, and AFIK not too many incidents with looting in our area at least.

I could guarentee you the best P385 in uk for less...! My family have been trying to convince the old man to downsize for years.
As some have said...these late 80's and early 90's Princess's are tremendous value for money. Build quality is sone thing not often found these days....twin powerful and bull it proof Tamd61A's and shaft drives. Relentless power and unrivalled sea keeping for less than the price of a 5 year old 30ft toy bayliner..
Probably mentioned before and hate to rattle on, but I remember meeting a couple who had a Sealine F34 in a well known marina in the west coast of Scotland, the night before both party's coincidently were making passage to Ireland round the infamous mull of kintyre.....both spent the Evening discussing the voyage over a few shandies and were aware the weather might blow up (as it often does round the point)
Anyway....long story short....the next morning and not long after leaving...the F34 owner was on the radio asking if he could follow in the calm of the P385's wake. Lovely boat as the F34 is....no comparison in terms of ability and out right power.
The fans of cosmetically pleasing to the eye boats may choose the F34, but I know what I would rather have when it blows and things get bumpy...and in terms of space and comfort...

As an ex P435 owner, I can testify that this was one of Princess's best boats and I would say that is a lot of boat for the money providing of course the hull and oily bits are in working order. Yes the interior is very 1980s but a couple of grand's worth of new upholstery and curtains would freshen that up. As for the rest of it, assuming the photos are current, she doesnt look to be in bad order. The P435 hull is excellent with quite a sharp entry for good head sea performance and with Princess's 'bustle' at the stern to extend the hull which gave it the feel of a bigger boat. The only downside to this particular boat are the TAMD61 engines which were slightly underpowered when new and will definitely be underpowered now. They gave about 25-26kts max when new so dont expect to see more than 23-24kts now. The 435 is a nicer boat with the TAMD71 or 72 engines in it. Having said this, for £65k, you could do an awful lot worse. An excellent hull with an enormous aft cabin interior. What more could you ask for?

Two more boats now in a classified ad on ebay. Both have been viewed at some point by yours truly.
One, a bit of a suprise regards quality of construction and interior space, proper gentlemens yacht abeit from a different era.
The other. :(
