Yeah im not too keen on sanding the decks all the way down if possible.

Hi our old boat, a birchwood had similar deak “kind of wood colour” but no lines in it , that was looking tired , if we would have kept the boat I would have fitted tek deck or similar synthetic teak over the top , I’m sure it would have looked nice
