Am familiar with Volvos and Cummins and the odd Ford based marinised engine but never this particular option.
Boat would be repatriated back here to UK in event of purchase so sourcing spares the main interest.
Comments and observations welcome.

Did wonder if the engine used some generic block marinised by the usual companies and not an inhouse project. ?
Am guessing the engine is probably a simple (non electronic) inline six producing 200-250hp and not some mega cylinder monster with starship mantainance and repair bills, boat is around 25 years old and in Germany.
Hopefully a lazy 2 valve engine and not anything similar to the stressed out intensive care noise generator such as Volvos KAMD series.

Deutz make their own engines. Very innovative manufacturers, their air cooled range for agriculture are brilliant. They dedicated a plant to specialise in marine engines a while back. Tie up with Mercedes et al somewhere along the line. oh they also made tanks for Adolf a while back.

Volvo is largest shareholder with Deutz having major input to current Penta range

Used to supply truck engines(still do)as part of Magirus Deutz.

Cracking engines in the truck application.

Spares throughout Europe are in abundance.

Sorry I can't advise on the marine engines but, if the truck engines are anything to go by.':encouragement:

Is this a repower on to a stern drive model?

Stern drives....Argh...you have got to be $%^&* :).

Its a very late P35 in Germany on shafts with the transom door. The engines were customer specified by the first owner.

There is another P35 around fitted with a pair of KAMD but do not fancy the 200 hour valve service .

Chum has Fairline Brava mainly used on the Thames and the racket created downstairs is almost unbearable at low speeds......plus the constant clunking in and out of the turbo/superchargers.
