Princess 130 / New Mayfair office

I wish Princess all the best. I think the businesses that are not crippled with debt, run very well and are prepared to have a go will come out of this reccession in a world beating position....

Lets hope succesful ventures like this put Britain back on the stage as world leading manufacturers.....

It looks like the (titchy) Torquay office has gone though, it doesn't appear on their website any more.

Still there a couple of weeks ago, Jimmy.
They seemed to be delivering a new 21M to someone.

yep, just don't mention that it's owned by the French ... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

arrhh...good point!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I was going to say we must do some form of manufacturing somewhere in Britain, but I'm clearly wrong!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well, of course, the boats are still designed and made in the UK, the French owner is a multi industry fund specialising in luxury brands, AKAIK, so wouldn't have a clue how to make a boat.

Also, UK is still the 5th or 6th largest manufacturing country, can't remember which, but it can't be denied that the manufacturing base has been in decline.

Ah! Thats the key i had forgotten - the luxury end new owner of the brand.

Actually having a W.End location for the top end irrespective of where the vessel owner is based or indeed keeps his boat makes some sence I suppose as peeps like interior designers, yacht managers etc will have a presence nearby. Thus one stop shop sort of affair.

No sign of life last time I was in that area, just a sign saying office now shut and referring customers to Plymouth if I recall correctly.

Pity.

It's been owned by "South Africa" for the last 20 odd years though hasn't it, so its no "less British" than it was before.
