Pride comes before boat sinking!

Dear all,

I know a number of you know my predicament and have not posted anything on this forum, for which I thank you. This is a very distressing time for SWMBO and I.

I will post more when I can. I'm sure those of you who have experienced this will understand and those who haven't I hope you don't have to find out first hand.

Regards

Seahope

Yikes, whatever happened, hope you are both ok, which is the main thing.
Boats, however cherished, can be replaced.

What has happened to you? Likewise - hope everyone is OK. Are you going to share the story (at some point when perhaps its apropriate)?

:(

Nightmare.

Somewhere at the end of a very long tunnel, this will all get sorted out, eventually, but given the financial/practical/emotional investment that we put into our boats ... I would be devastated if it were FP, despite being a humble S28.

Not that!

I'm sure it is safe to say that I don't think that there was anything that anyone could have done recently to prevent this from happening, which is what makes this a fairly unique case. I will provide details when all is sorted and I know the full reason for this personal disaster.

I would like to thank people that have already offered help and particularly David of Southwater Marine who has helped greatly in advising me on options and in organising things for me once I'd decided the best course of action. It was also brilliant that David sent one of his engineers who worked out of hours to flush the engines with diesel to remove the water from inside. I could not have done that myself! Hopefully, there is now a good chance that the engines can be saved.

A horrible thing to happen, but, as other have said, boats can be replaced, lives cannot. Hopefully fully insured so not too much of a financial nightmare although emotionally pretty draining I should imagine.

Huge commiserations, what a terrible shame. Best of luck with dealing with the aftermath.

Best wishes
Jimmy

and so say i......its galling when we work hard and save up for our hour of pleasure, then something like that happens !!............AT YOUR convinience, and when you can face it, would it be something we all might learn from ?..........AGAIN HUGE COMMISERATIONS from all the Thanks Mum mob.................................

You certainly have plenty of sympathy, & good wishes. Please accept mine too, I hope it helps.

Poo happens, nowt anyone can do about it except to accept it & try your best to move on. As already said, "it is only a boat" and is repairable/ replaceable. Try to count your blessings, the disaster could have been an accident or illness to yourself or someone near & dear.

Good luck, I reckon you must be due a bit now!

Very, very sad sight.
I sincerely wish you that everything can be completely and properly fixed, returning to enjoy boating asap.
