Hi

I've seen a 2006 Merry fisher 625 at a marina for sale by brokerage,

It has a suzuki 115 hp outboard which has just had full service, comes with trailer, pictures aren't great but the broker says the boat is in great condition with very low engine hour's, he wasn't sure offhand exactly how many, anyway I'm viewing on Wednesday morning, the asking price is £ 24500 I can't find any comparisons currently on the market is this fair price or not

It's exactly the boat I want and have been looking for nearly two years for a replacement after selling my old boat, but I don't want to be paying over the odds.

Your views would be appreciated and not just on price 625s in general

Thanks

I would think thats about the going rate if in decent condition especially with a trailer. One thing to check is has it had the vent modifications fitted around the rear, there should be 2 fitted on the starboard side by the steps and 2 on the opposite side toward the rear, these are to stop the smell of petrol fumes in the cabin after the door has been shut for a while. I have a 625 same spec but didnt know about the mod until after a bit of trawling old posts on google following fumes in the cabin., hence kit and fitting added a fair bit of extra cost. great boat though. I would get a survey done if you decide on it.

Please can you say a bit more about these mods, or suggest some links which give more details? I have a MF 625 and love the boat, but other half complains about petrol fumes. I can't find any posts about this, but if you can suggest a fix you could really save the day!

Does that apply with an outboard boat

That seems like a very good price. If it is what you have been after and you like it offer £23 K and see if you can snap it up before someone else does. Dithering could loose you the boat

If you dither too long and have been waiting 2 years already you might end up waiting another 2 years

Hi its basically 4 vents with pipes going into the bilges, (pics attached). Got it done by Morgan Marine in Brightlingsea , if I had to do it again would do it myself, but at the time didn't have the balls to cut holes in a perfect boat. Kit was about £180, but I'm sure u cud get the bits for way less from B&Q. It cost about £600 Inc travel and labour! The other thing to say is in my case its improved the smell but not cleared it completely, I guess it depends how much air passes over the vents while moored, and as I have since had a rear canopy fitted I think this negates it a bit.
