Preveza Marine

Ok - thanks for that.
will be contacting SeaTeach to find a suitable Fridge for me and arrange shipping accordingly. may even get some solar panels from them too as i am told they are competitive in that market. also might even get that Windlass - just need to check last nights lottery ticket first!!

I suggest you start new threads on the subjects of solar panels and windlass, perhaps on PBO rather than here. This thread seems to have covered a wealth of topics already and you run the risk of few contributors.

I would not jump at Sea-teach just yet, check a few others first. On solar panels, look first at Kyocera. Not certain of the current situation but two years ago when I bought mine they were the only make aimed at marine use. Mine are still looking perfect. I bought them from www.midsummerenergy.co.uk who seemed competitive at the time. You'll need a controller as well.

Looking for help in Preveza to watch our boat in Cleopatra

Hello,

I am looking for someone in Preveza, Greece that would like to occasionally check our boat in the Cleopatra Marina. We are a Swiss Club of 12 members that operate the Kalimera, a Moody 41, now on land there. I have been having trouble with the slow response of the marina to emails, and would like to find someone that could be called upon to check on the boat and occasionally do useful things. For example, I would like to know the size and type of our anchor chain so that it can be replaced. I believe the club would be pleased to pay for this service, and I hope that Cleopatra would allow someone other than an owner to enter the grounds. This I will check on.

I would be glad to hear from you.

Thanks for your help, Irving Dunn

I suggest you ask Patrick O'Donaghue of Preveza Yacht Services to keep an eye on the boat. He has ready access to the boats at Cleopatra and is thoroughly reliable.
Telephone #+30 6946480347.
On the whole security at the 3 yards appears good (I can only vouch for Aktio from experience) and suspect the precaution is likely to be a case of lily-gilding.

PS I'm not surprised you have a poor response to e-mails, they may feel you're asking the obvious and that you should understand no news is good news. Just imagine the additional clerical work required if all the owners of every boat in the Cleopatra yard sent an e-mail, requiring an answer once a week.
