Preventing soggy salt

We keep ours in an old Lea and Perrins sauce bottle and that seems to work. I prise the lid off and refill from time to time. I had considered putting in a few grains of rice but no need so far.

I think that I picked up this tip here many years ago and found it worked well. The lid seals reasonably well and opening is wide enough to pour some into your palm and sprinkle as needed.

We use those throw away grinders for both pepper and salt. Cost a pound or so each and come with a tight fitting lid which keeps the contents dry.
+1 for Lidl/Aldi's salt and pepper mills.
I keep them in a zip-lock bag when not in use. A selection of these bags is also quite useful for keeping dry such commodities as rice, pasta, flour etc,

Buy smaller quantities !
I think in sainsburys I bought a small 3 inch tall pot for 35p. Unless you have a very damp boat, you should manage to get through that before it clogs!

To quote Mr Salter (!): ‘Up to a point, Lord Copper!’ I left the salt one on board this winter and it took an inverted thump on the step to recall it to its duty!

We've had a salt & pepper set that had a top that you could twist to close and kept salt free flowing for most of the season, but it's finally gone the way of all plastic and the supplier (a pound shop) is no longer around.

Any suggestions for a replacement? I know I should probably bring it home every time I leave the boat, but I'm just not that organised , so something that will keep the damp out without breaking the (rather fragile) bank.
i just picked 30 minutes ago. up a double ended one with screw tops both ends cost $5 in Walmart, sold for camping.

Otherwise , wisdom say add some rice to the salt to absorb moisture. I'm not really allowed salt any more so use 'No-Salt' substitute for cooking and at the table. It was sold in Uk spermarkets and they have it here too, seems fine to me although I miss the crunchy Breton sea salt I used to bulk buy in Brittany.
