I'm planning a coastal sailing trip from Preston Marina, heading down through the Menai Strait, along the Welsh coast, and east to Cardiff for a weekend stay before making the return journey north.

The boat is fully equipped, and while I don’t need help sailing, I’d really enjoy some company along the way. If you’ve got experience, we can even share watches to keep things moving and reduce the number of stops.

It’s not a long trip, but it’s a great opportunity to get out on the water—whether you're looking to log some miles, gain experience in a calm and controlled setting, or just enjoy the coast from a new perspective.

The boat is a Maxi 95, with a separate aft cabin, brand new sails, and a reliable engine. It’s rigged with jacklines for safety, and all lines are led aft to the cockpit for easy handling. She’s fast, stable, and a joy to sail—responsive, well-balanced, and fitted with a wheel rather than a tiller (in case that matters to you!).

No financial contribution needed—just bring good vibes and a love for the sea.

Drop me a message if you're interested and we can figure out the best dates.

Hi DP, when are you going? I live and work in Preston (Well, work there and soon to be moving there) and doing my L1 Start Sailing at Blackpool and Fylde so, I'll be completely useless but it'd be great to meet someone who sails out of the Ribble. Considering mooring in Preston Marina myself.
