Prestige 42 v prestige 36

how much better boat is it, is it the same hull ,and is there a problem with prestige hulls

a) Mine is bigger than yours
b) fine if you observe the channel buoys, not your strongest point admittedly.

You forgot to ask has it got the speed and range to keep up with BruceK.

:p

I hope it comes with a larger funbox and bigger battery bank than your current model :encouragement:

Can't, on the hard mate. Enjoy though. Hope the sea is calm. The weather we're having you may get there but getting back on time is a gamble and I'm neck deep in tenders

I have a 46 and it is a great boat. Very good in the rough stuff and no rattles. True, the interior finish is not quite up to some of the British builders but she is nicely put together and a huge boat for the money with lots of sensible touches.

hi switch does it have qsb engines have you used it yet ,in a chop rtc

We have a Jeanneau Prestige 38s with twin qsd 320hp Cummins diesel.
I bought this to replace a 1996 princess v39, I wanted a more up to date sports boat with a power roof, the jump to a newer v39 was too great so I viewed the 38s and bought, at the time I felt a little uneasy going from a princess to this French jenny thing. but it was clean, low hour, finished to a reasonable standard, had good sized engines and 13 years newer.
it did not seem right to bring a boat home via a road, so we sailed it from Poole to north wales. and I must say brilliant, (bold claim here), just as good if not better than the old princess in the rough, I say rough because it was round lands end and the bishops and clerks. then a couple of weeks after the ride home we steamed over to the isle of man for the TT.
I was also a little worried about the engines, but that was just me being small minded / brain washed by others on this site that think the only engine is Volvo (even though Volvo's do break as well )!. the only 2 negative things I will say about the engines is, every jubilee clips was not very tight and spare parts will be longer to arrive, apart from that, plenty of power, runs and sound sweet normal on the fuel,
all in if your not in a position to spend an extra 100 grand, buy the jenny it will do a good job and pass the time whilst you save up a bit more money.
