Pressure Wash Underwater ?

When my last boat was in Kirkcudbriight marina I used to remove the fringe of greenery which grew round her waterline (the only thing that did, thanks to constantly changing salinity) with my pressure washer. It worked fine, but with an effective range of an inch or so - the nozzle had to be practically against the target.

Thanks all, sounds like it's worth a try with no dramatic issues I hadn't foreseen.

Ingenious! Two questions suggest themselves though: How is the cradle protected from fouling, and, what happens to all the debris?

I’d love to see one of these on the Dart!

Thanks for all the comments. For anyone referring to this thread in future it worked.

The whole pressure washer handle/tube (FWOABW) can be submerged which meant with my small Corribee bilge keeler I could clear the entire hull, rudder and and keels except the bit between the keels. I was able to do this from the pontoon doing a contortionist act and using braille. I was also lucky - for some reason the marina water was clear - it isn't always.

Unfortunately for me it turned out the problem wasn't weed but Coral Worm all over the underside of the hull and keels. The pressure washer did clear it with effort but it was a bit of a shock and a lesson not to skimp on antifouling in future.

...and the crud falling of the boat causes a very satisfying fish feeding frenzy as it drops.
