I have been with Premier a while now and was looking forward to the extra nights Premier are offering this year.

Having just renewed I find the new deal not quite what I expected.

In the past you got 12 free nights, I was wondering if I would even need the luxury of 42 free nights now being offered, however I was disappointed to find you are now limited to just 6 nights at each marina in the group. I tend to use most of my 12 at Gosport, now I am limited to just 6 there. So for me its not an improvement.

I wonder how others feel about the change and how does it compare with MDL -maybe its time for a change.

From my experience, they don't often ask to update your card so can go as often as you like. ;)

I'm with Frontier on this. A big dissapointment especially as we are a sail boat in Chichester so overnight stops in Gosport and Port Solent are quite regular.
It's a bit tricky to get to Falmouth for a couple of nights and Southsea isnt really inspiring as a stop over is it?
They should offer 42 free nights in any group marina and not restrict it to 6.
Every time I go into a Premier Marina I go to the office and they have always asked to see my visitors card. Perhaps I have a dishonest face!

I also agree with Frontier, it seemed like a good idea until, as always, you read the small print.

Premier, if any of you monitor this site then please go back to the free 12 nights at any of your marinas. It worked much better for me.

I've always been asked for the card - I notice they log it in a database also these days.

Yep, I also agree with this - I thought the 42 nights thing was an excellent response to MDL's visitor nights deal - until I got my new card and saw that it was limited to 6 nights in each marina. For existing bertholders I think this has had the opposite effect to that intended - instead of being a generous benefit, it just makes you think that Premier are getting even more cynical about their customers. Like others I have always been asked for my card.

Still, I guess they could improve matters if they acquired more marinas along the south coast to use your free nights in - and they were hinting very strongly on their stand at SIBS that an acquisition announcement isn't too far away.

Cheers
Jimmy

Fully agree with Frontier. Initially we thought it was a great opportunity as we have used up the previous 12 night deal for a couple of years. On looking at the detail it was a disappointment and not so useful for us as we dont get to Falmouth and Southsea is not so appealing. We have usually been asked for the card but fnd some marinas are more "flexible" than others. It all seems a bit of cynical headline grabbing thing rather than a genuine attempt to offer their customers something useful. We had best part of four weeks on board in the summer and still only used up 14 free nights. Better than not having them of course but I suspect most people would find it difficult to use even half.

Think MDL are in the running to build the new marina in East Cowes once the new breakwater is in place perhaps that is their new aquisition .
The breawater will protect it from NNE and E winds /swell

I do hope MDL get it, that would be excellent news. As MDL berthholder we get unlimited short-stay FOC at MDL marinas and I think its 30 nights at other MDL marinas. But as Cowes is a regular hop over for me, especially if taking friends out that would save me a fortune!
