I took advantage of Sailing Today's special offer just before they changed editor. Previously I'd always just bought whichever mag took my fancy as and when I wanted something to read. Since then I've found that the magazine arrives when I don't want to read it, and the content seems duller. Whether this is due to the change of editor or just the fact that I am subscribing and not selecting the best magazine I don't know. So I'd advise against any subscription unless you live out in the sticks.

Can't you think of anything more personal and less routine than the same blokeish present each year?

Grief! Is that still going - I remember furtively reading it as a 12 year old with more hormones than he knew what to do with.

Ah yes, I remember H&E. probably the most boring skin magazine ever made. Didn't for one nanosecond imagine it was still going. How about combining your interests at the Bella Vita Boat Club ?

I would think the new editor at ST has only been fully involved in one issue so far, the latest one. These mags all run on long lead times. Give the chap a chance, I know him and he's very keen.

A couple of years the magazine had a shake down which ensured a significant re-development of interest, or so I read somewhere! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I'd had enough of ST about this time last year, but bought 1 more issue....

I was about to buy a Coribbee, but the Dec 06 ST had a long report on Anderson 22's, & I was hooked, and bought one. So have continued to read ST (as well as PBO) but have to say recently, again, have struggled to find anything of interest in ST.

I get both though I must confess, there are only so many things to write about, particularly in winter. Just one more '101 things to do when laying up/anti fouling/ fitting a holding tank/ servicing the heads' I may falll asleep.

Funny, though, I still read them. I might learn something! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
