Practicalities in Falmouth area

Currently tucked away up the river Fal sheltering from this lovely summer weather ?
Hoping to move down to St Mawes Monday or Tuesday. Can't remember if there is a launderette in St Mawes, can anyone advise?

No but there is definitely facilities at Falmouth Haven.

This one in particular appeals "Trelawney Laundrette & Off Licence" you can do your washing and restock the boat at the same time.

No but there is definitely facilities at Falmouth Haven.

Beware the facilities at the Haven. One is compelled to use the washing powder/conditioner provided in the machine. The “aroma” of said washing stuff is an acquired taste to say the least. Consequently my CinC refuses to use the machines.

The Chain Locker is a gem, one simply cannot stroll past - more like a museum / entertainment than just a pub, should be listed as a waypoint on charts

When were you last there? It’s been done up recently and, whilst still being a good pub, is no longer a great pub. All imho. The Front, also on the quay, has a much better selection of beers.

Last summer - yes it has changed a bit but still great in my view, it has memories of great chums - not all of whom are with us now on this sea level.

I hope to be there and raise a glass to them soon. :encouragement:

And ours. Left there 12 days ago. The friendliest marina we’ve ever visited and always plenty of activity to keep you interested, especially when any super yachts are berthed there.

I beg to differ on that one. The best Sunday lunch is at the RCYC that’s if you want a proper lunch.
