PP in Nidri

Whilst in Nidri several weeks ago the pp went out just after dusk checking anchor lights in tranquil bay. When asked what they doing they said that you have to comply with the rules and gave me a stern look. Thankfully I was on the fisherman s quay at the time!

Was anyone fined as quite a few boats had no lights at all?

If you take a look back to a few months back May ??? You will see that a few boat did get find for not having there anchor lights on , and rightly so .
while we was there we sew them come out twice with four days .

pleased to see some enforcement of anchor lights as really gets quite dangerous at times, and of course it gives the PP something to do in their smart new allegedly Russian funded rib.

The new rib allegedly cost €70,000. I have yet to see it used in anger, maybe they can't afford the fuel.

I also heard in a bar the other night that people had been fined for having no anchor ball. This may have just been Chinese whispers bar talk but considering 99.9% of boats don't seem to use a ball there could be easy money in it for the PP.

Thanks: I suppose that would be the other explanation. Happy to make the small allowances necessary to read your posts (although I'm temperamentally happier to blame nameless software authors than actual people).

Jacaido the subject have come up many a times over the years , and yes I am , too old and too busy enjoying life to do any thing about it now .
I have been on ybw for so long now that I think most people now except it and read between the lines , thanks guys , I do make a big efforts went I not writing while trying to sail so at time you will see my posting do get better .
I hope my posting make some kind of contributions to the forums thought at time with all the name calling And bitching and people not having any thing really to contribute but just posting to pick an argument with someone just because of something said some weeks back , I have to wonder why some of us bother , but hey if one posting in five make a different and helps someone out then it worth it .
In the meant time keep reading in between the lines and if it becomes too much for you then sit back have a beer and chill , life's too short to get stress out .
One last thing , you see my posting get edited quite a bit , that's because I read back at what I wrote and see the mistake and try and put them right , so you see. I do make the effort

Jacaido there no need to apologise , I didn't take any offence at what you said ( my god you making me work hard to night ) you asked the question and I answered it . The best way I could .
I look at this way , I am sitting on my boat six miles in land on a river in Croatia , very clear sky thousands of stars , it about 30c , there a cool breeze in the air ,Other then water slowly slapping on the boat ,and some one playing softly on his guitar there not a sound to be heard , my co skipper and the love of my life is slowly getting though her glass or red wine and I am enjoying a cold Malibu and pine apple , the cat sitting on the Bimini watching the fish jump out now and then , we got no train to catch to morrow no work to worry about , if there a bus or tube strike it matter not to is , if Tesco and Sainsbury gets into another price war over bake beans do we care , as long as we wake up heathy , this is all that matter , so how does dyslexia effect my life and way I live , ? not a bit . Now the weather is any thing .
Now our drinks are finish and it time to listen to the water slapping on the bow from our water bed ,

One thing I have learned after a few years on these forums is that if anyone ever criticises another Poster's spelling or grammar, you can be 100% sure that their post will also contain a typo or grammatical error which the next poster will point out!
