Powerboat refit cost

I took on a 2002 50ft Trader which had had a number of troubling years before purchase and it all depends on how much work and how big a project. One thing I will say is that the hours really ramp up. I do 99% of the work myself which has saved me a fortune, not to mention allowed me to understand nearly every nut and bolt of the vessel, but to put that time into paid hours would make the job extortionate.

Where I stand with these projects now is if the boat is an absolute classic with rarity value then paying for an extensive refit may be worthwhile. If the boat is from a mainstream brand (Princess, Trader, Sunseeker, Fairline, etc etc etc), either be prepared for the long haul doing a lot of work yourself and set the buying price accordingly, or wait wait wait until one that is more expensive but has already been refitted by the previous owner..
