Power Catamarans - rarely mentioned

I think PowerCats are great - buuuut, older ones (which are the ones I could afford) are a bit too industrial, with cramped cabins.

They aren't the best looking things, but I could definitely live with that.

They just don't have a sense of occasion in the same way that a monohull does.

I do like the performance / fuel costs though... very frugal indeed.
 
Mooring is definitely a cost. About looks, things are changing (in the good direction)!
A curious perspective when you compare a powercat vs an equivalent size monohull, the cost shifts from more expensive when in use (monohull: fuel, seakeeper+gen) to more expensive when parked (powercat: mooring). So the right decision is: buy a powercat and use it more often!
oh, about a large cabin, you can have one in a Aquila for example, but it is so heavy and bulky that it is more like a monohull than a powercat...
