Power Boat Instructor wanted

Hi, can anyone recommend a friendly powerboat instructor in the Chichester area?

I'm after a powerboat level 2 assessment and I've been told as I'm day skipper I don't need to do the whole course, plus would like to use my boat.

Someone did mention I may need to go to a sea school as individual instructors can't issue tickes, no idea if its right or not.

You can do a direct entry assessment
What size is your boat
Yes you must go through a recognised sea school, an Instructor cannot issue certificates only the principal or chief instructor can.

Try Southsea Marina, they do courses and customised training, very reasonable on your own boat.

Would suggest the two day course as you will be shown/learn so much more about small boat handling . Unless you have loads of experience, that is in this type of stuff the direct assessment is a test so no teaching involved.

Thanks, we had a Fairline Targa 30 for a few years and the RIB gets a lot of use so handling is not bad although parking with just one engine is more of a challenge. From what I gather I'd spend most of the course listening to stuff I know - I did have someone lined up who I was chatting to about it but he's off the road at the moment.
