As far as I'm concerned, It isnt th width that the problem.
Its that some of the servers are very slow to serve the pics.
Its far more important IMO to have a good compression in order to speed up any down time - especially when there are lots of pics in a post.
Also, here in Devon - they havent heard of broadband - everythings a bit slow.
A previous post on this thread commented about uploading full res pics - I use this

great little Microsoft addition - written for XP - just right click and "bobs your uncle" - I dont know if there's a Vista equivalent - I dont use Vista - and probably wont - for a long time anyway.
