Chaps, it is sensible to give the bike a bit of a clean and service after the ride on Saturday. Fortunately we had no rain, but some of the roads were bumpy and gritty.
Clean the bike down
Check the chain and lubricate it
Lube the derailliers
Check the gear and brake cables, and lube where you can
Lube the brake mechanisms
Clear any debris from the brake pads
Check the seat post can be moved up or down
Inspect tyres for cuts or splits
Inspect wheels for lumps/bruising/trueness
Check wheel spokes are tight
Clean the sh!te out of the drinks bottles
Put the bike on E Bay
I had a shortish ride on Tuesday evening, wind now northerly, hence I rode into it for 2/3 of the ride. Typical!
Hope all of you guys are fighting fit? I really enjoyed meeting all of you.
