Re: Ford Tempest - Silentbloc engine mounts

Brian, There is an outfit in Baldock, Herts . That manufacture Engine Mounts, for the life of me I cannot remember the Name, ( I think its R & D ) but I know they are specialists. Should be over that way in the next 10 days & will make enquiries. HTH Tony W

Re: Ford Tempest - Silentbloc engine mounts

Hi Brian,

Had to renew my engine mounts 3 yrs ago. I was able to get the matching fwd mounts from AMC Diesel Tel 017772 613003.

Ref No SE11323 Triangular 1/2" @ £54.50 ea (2001).

The bigger rear mounts weren't available any more (I was told). I contacted Lancing marine who made up new rear mounting brackets to be bolted to the engine & adapted R&D flexible mounts to go with them (Mike Bellamy seemed aware of the problem). The centres of the bolt holes on the new mount bases did not match the old so I had 2 adapter plates made up in S/S this worked fine.

It might be worth contacting ASAP Supplies as their Thorneycroft engine mounts might be the Silentmount type of the right size.

If you want to know more email me.

Cheers

Nigel

Try also http://www.trelleborg.com/industrialavs/ who do all sortd of AV mounts. They took over the Metalastic range from Dunlop many years ago. Deal direct if you can with a company letterhead and you'll get them at a good price.
