Re: Charlie is my Darling - Not!

You are not insured against a named hurricane, or so I thought....

Re: Charlie is my Darling - Not!

I don't want to worry you, but I think Charley is now a cat 3 hurricane with winds of 130mph forecast for Tampa area for later today.

I'm sitting watching the NOAA service which is worrying enough, but the local webcam where my stuff lives in the US has now gone off-line!

Re: Charlie is my Darling - Not!

Well they searched far and wide but couldn't find a single brain cell amongst the lot of us so I suppose desperation set in!

Re: Charlie is my Darling - Not!

Can't help with finding a webcam in Tampa area but wish you good luck.

I'm worrying about a location 100 miles south and communication is slowing down. Maybe I should have kept my HAM licence and tune ito the ARRL hurricane service. Interesting that the old ham operators turn out to be useful as the modern high-tech comms systems start to fail due to power outages.

Joking apart, 130 mph sounds terrifying and yes, Charley is now officially cat 3!!!!!

GOOD LUCK

Re: Charlie is my Darling - Not!

Hi, we made out alright in Naples which is perhaps a little closer to where Charlie went in so my guess is your OK? . Spent a very wet afternoon adjusting lines and fenders and watching the action on TV. Great things inverters, all the landlubbers had to make do with steam radios!.
