Just had an interesting conversation with SWMBO about her niece in the Army. Niece has a posting to Cyprus for 2 years and is going into an unfurnished quarter. Aledgely all their furniture and their 2 cars are being transported out to Cyprus at the governments expense.
I have never heard of such a waste of public money since I last saw pm's question time on tv.
Is anybody contected to the forces that can confirm or deny this?

Might be a good idea if you confirm 'allegedly' before ranting here..........anyway, why shouldnt they be entitled to have their own posessions with them?

You were always allowed on overseas postings to take some of your posessions but to be told that they can take all their furniture and 2 cars I think is an excessive waste of pulic funds.

If they intend to carry on like this with the forces then it is probably a good job we do not have so many places for them to go to. Must admit I did enjoy my 3 years in S'pore.
