Does anyone know if in recent applications for a D7 Portuguese visa, a marina contract, preferably Lagos, would be accepted as an address to apply for the visa?

Know there are a lot of threads on visas since Brexit, but embassy and local authority attitudes seem to be changing over time.

Marina address used to be ok but that was before B day. There was someone on here a few weeks ago who'd been refused the marina address at Vila Real San Antonio. Methinks that it will be a very mixed answer you will get if you ask in different areas. Typical of Portugal I'm afraid. No common interpretation of the law. Best thing is to find someone who's done it recently in the town you're going to. Lots of people from around Lagos on here (or there used to be) so maybe one will post for you. Good luck.

Thanks, appreciate the reply. Going to Lagos (by car) for a quick visit and will see if we can find out any more, and hopefully get a reply from someone who's in Lagos in this forum.

Prior to B day, as EU citizens, we had the right to register our presence with the parish (Freguesia) and then apply for residence at the Camara, as did those living in marinas. Since Brexit, SEF handle all applications and unless someone can prove they were living here before the deadline, it appears D7 is now the only way as we're third country citizens with no rights.

When you are in Lagos, if you book an interview with the marina Director, she should be able to give you an insight into the latest situation.

We know some have managed this.

We also.no some specialist residency advisors now say its not possible.

Portugal is a lovely country and very welcoming BUT rules are often interpreted locally

I suggest you apply with a theoretical marina contact and see the response. Later at interview you may/may not wish to mention that you.want to live in Portugal but are using the boat as temporary accommodation.while you look around and decide what area to rent/buy I'm

Will take your suggestion onboard. We were hoping that if the boat's address was OK, we could use the boat to look around and find somewhere to buy/rent without the 90/180 day restriction.

It would good to speak to a residency advisor with regard to applying for the D7, so if anyone could recommend anyone, we would far prefer this that just looking on Google.. Thanks for taking the time to reply to us.

Send @geem a PM. He used an agent and IIRC, he was happy with the service.
