Hi, My boat is very nearly ready to be put back in the water now, both engines running, insides is getting there too, but most importantly, its close to being able to cruise from reading on the Thames, round to the portsmouth harbour area for a semi liveaboard life (5 days a week)

Does anyone have any idea of where is best to moor for a liveaboard, and what sort of costs i am looking at ?, i pay £115 a month in reading for a liveaboard mooring, but obviously expect to pay considerably more on the south coast !!

I know there is port solent marina, but for a 27foot boat, its looking like £300 a month, and i was hoping to get moored for less than that ?

Any advice/ideas ?

Thanks

if you want to be in a marina with walk ashore, but dont mind drying out, then the cheapest mooring (if any are available) is probably at the top of fareham creek.

If you are happy to hang on a buoy then there are other possibilities at Hardway.

If you are happy to be just away from the harbour, then Wilsons yard at Hayling might meet the requirement, or an alongside berth at Hayling Yachts.

There are other options, but cant remember the names of-hand.

Thanks for the suggestions from both of you.

the quay lane one seems very good, and a good price too :)

I cant find any contact details for the moorings at the top of fareham creek, but will do a bit of googling once i get back on my boat

Cheers
