Have successfully used Seajet antifoul for several years but since moving to Gosport this seems to be ineffective to stop very active growth of long beards growing along the water line. Any recommendation from the community who have boats in the harbour of alternative antifoul or is this a problem that all experience in the harbour and difficult to prevent.

No wisdom here I'm sorry to say. I'm up at Wicor and usually suffer pretty bad fouling by the end of the season (usually launch March - out Oct/Nov). I used to use Cruiser Uno but it seemed to last less and less each year (even though two coats). I've had Hemple Tiger Extra last couple of years and it worked well first season & not so well last season. I'm banking on a scrub down on the grid later in the summer this year as it was so bad last year I hauled out a bit early.

Today I have had a lift and clean on the Sealift and could not believe the amount of growth along the waterline and on the rudder. The boat is kept in the water all year and is Coppercoated but I have never experienced such growth before so wonder whether it is related to a relatively warm winter or perhaps less current through the marina (Haslar) as it is due for a good dredging having silted up.
Either way, it was not a pretty sight. In places the beard had grown up to three feet in just four weeks since I brushed the waterline.
Nice and clean now, though. Wonder how long for, however...

Do you know if the scrubbing pad is back in operation at Wicor? Very convenient if you berth there. And easy access to the cafe ;)
cafe.

I keep Snark in Hornet, theatre side of the creek from Haslar Marina. I find Cruiser Uno effective. Of course it does rather depend on the boat being used regularly. This year, on lift-out, after 15 moths in the water, there was just brown sludge with the occasional marine polyp. When it was kept on a swinging mooring up by Hardway, it was more difficult to use and accordingly got rather more fouled. Fareham Creek was the worst.
