> Please help to keep the Portland Coastguard Helicopter, don’t forget, they regularly transport people from accidents on land to hospital, not just at sea and are a vital resource in transferring sick patients between hospitals across long distances within the UK.

Not enough! More signatures needed. A similar campaign was successful over the proposed closure of Lee on Solent. The additional flying time before the helicopter could begin any SAR task maens tha the search area itself has to be enlarged, coupled to the shortened search time on station occasioned by the need to return to refuel increases the risk to vessels in the Portland sea area.
