Yes wind over tide and getthereitis can do funny things to the reasoned mind.
WE crossed the same time as you and also ended up motoring. We decided to carry on - fought over the tide and got back to Hamble at 3AM on the Wednesday. Forecasts had said Wednesday didn't look great and once one is in the groove....We’ve decided to go to Poole Quay this evening. It was a bumpy, slamming trip across Lyme bay.
We couldn’t get a wind angle that worked so ended up motoring all the way, but we’re here, the kids are somewhere they know and are looking h longingly at the motorbikes!
Glad you had a good sail
Hopefully will anchor tomorrow, and then see where the rest of the holiday takes us.

Boats name is Azzurra - we are a Dufour 36 ClassicWhat boat were you in? We saw a few other nutters on AIS.
Now stuck in Southampton after sending the wife and kids home, waiting for a window to get back to Dover.
This summer has been a bit of a challenge.
