Portishead to the sHamble

To appear on Marinetraffic you need to be transmitting your Nav data out on the AIS system, so you would need a transceiver.

The App is passive so it won't show your position based on your iPhone using it.

Earlier today the Met Office surface pressure chart showed a ridge of high pressure over your route on Wednesday. I can't see that chart now, only showing up to Tuesday.
Yes, the current plan is Portishead to Padstow on Tuesday, then round the tip on Wednesday, and see where we go from there.

Paul - good luck with the trip matey. If I'd known sooner I would have loved to have crewed for you as we will be taking a similar passage at some point, it would have been good experience. Good luck with the alternator.

Thanks Dave. Still waiting on the alternator. Hoping to get it tomorrow morning, then we can get going if fixed before 12.00 or wait till Thursday.
This forum is fantastic. John on Spare Thyme is sending an alternator down from Scotland, so this is plan B, as I'm unlikely to see if for a couple of days. Good to have the spare though

Plan to arrive late next week, Friday/Saturday. Aiming to get away Monday/Tuesday. Scillies out this time, but would look to stop at Falmouth, possibly Torquay, Poole. No fixed plans yet.

Will be great to hook up with some of you when we finally make it?

A lot on at the moment, but if you find yourself in the Dart or Torquay/Brixham I'll make time for a beer and hello! :encouragement:

This is becoming another PeteM boat buying-type thread. Still no alternator, although John from Spare Thyme has sent me one of his. I should see it tomorrow. What a wonderful resource this forum is, full of fantastic folk! Anyway, the weather window has closed, so going back home tonight. Will be juggling work with weather windows for the next couple of weeks
