Just in case you have not seen it.

8th - 22nd October 2012 - Lock Shutdown
We are planning to undertake our annual lock shutdown for essential maintenance commencing on Monday 8th October 2012 with the lock programmed to come back online no later than Monday 22nd October 2012. We will endeavour to complete the works as quickly as possible and should this be the case then we may be able to re-open on Friday 19th. We will keep you posted!
As a berth holder, if you would like to continue using your boat throughout the duration of the shutdown then Penarth will be more than happy to accommodate you. Please contact Penarth on 02920 705021 to book.

Thanks for the reminder.Couple of years ago I arrived outside Portishead at HW unaware it was closed for maintenance until I called up for a lock in.(Im sure there were plenty of notices sent out so not blaming anyone bar myself)

Spent the night dried out in Pill on an empty yacht club mooring .I enjoyed going somewhere different as previously had only ever glanced into the Pill as passing by going up to Bristol.

I have some varnishing on the boat that needs doing and areas of my garden are covered in head height weeds. When can you start?

When can I start? About 2015 I should think. My wife thinks our garden is the Solent. One part has been named Bramble Bank.
