After a portable genny and have spied the Honda EU20i. Its light and seems fairly quiet and being a Honda should be reliable and effective - job done I thought, but before parting with a grand or so, thought I would ask on here what other peops use. I want about 2kws if poss and it needs to be quiet similar to the Honda.

Any thoughts or suggestions other than a Honda!?

Buy the Honda. You wont get better/quieter etc. You will always get most if not all your money back if you sell. 2 years warranty. Had one for 5 years - can't fault it. Etc Etc Ad nauseam.....

I've got the small 1000W Honda suitcase. It hasn't been used for nearly three years, and I need it for tomorrow - without fail.

And ... it started on about the fifth pull of the cord.

(I then changed the oil, by unscrewing the filler, and pouring the contents of the sump all over my shoes. Machine1 - Human 0. :( )

Hi - I went through a similar exercise recently and after a great deal of research settled on the Honda Eu20i. Whilst I have only had it a matter of days I am delighted with quality of build and ease of use. Check ebay if you want comfort around future values - 2 / 3 year old models achieve values near to the cost of a new one. Good luck.

Our little Honda sets us free, about 800 wats I think, Ok it wont run every thing. But every thing we need. It means that we dont need to see a port, for days on end and in comfort. It uses about half a gallon if running all night, welll till bed time at least.

Should be carried on all boats for emergency power.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago, has been very good.
In my opinion the honda 2.0 isnt big enough, if you are rafted it is better to let the whole raft plug in and then no one moans about the use.

The 2.6 kipor will run 1/3 of my air con, kettle while still charging the batteries.

I made the mistake once of putting it over a hollow part of the bathing platform which amplified the noise but it is quiet most the time especially if you only draw 2kw.

Another vote for the Kipor 2600, more power than the Honda, mine will run a pressure washer and a Dyson, it is a third of the price and mine is now 3 years old without an issue. The Honda is a quality bit of kit, but if you are not using it heavily not really worth the investment.

Another vote for Kipor. Had mine for nearly 5 years, never missed a beat, oh, except when I put some dirty fuel in.

Will run my air con, just about. When compressor cuts in, genny coughs a bit, but does it.
