Port Volvo Penta D3 200 AG disel engine cranks but will not start - no fault codes and was OK at end of July 2021.

Water all along as I suspected.
Fit racors with clear bowls and WIF .Independent to VP dash gauges .If you are keeping the boat ?

You need to eye ball what’s lying in wait before twisting the key .

Sorry to hear about your woes at least there’s a pathway out albeit expensive.

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

It has two 10 micron pre filters but not with clear bowls or the easy drain plugs. Why did Volvo change to these filters?
I will be visiting my boat in around 10 days from now. I am trying to find local Bosch service centres - easy in the UK not so easy in South of France!

Not sure think the clear bowls + fire guards / heat shields are fitted remote off the engines .So not supplied bolted on in a compact unit kinda way .
I don’t think clear bowls if fitted direct to the block comply with many gen boat fit out regs ie American coast guard etc .
How ever as said you could space permitting retro fit a racor clear bowl set up remote with rock stopper 30 microns as well as not instead off .

Arie d Boom at La Rague 10 miles W of Cannes J 37 off the A8 will either do or know a injector pump service place .They have there own techs + an engine shed .

Alternatively these same junction just 1 km from the A8 on the main drag .

Dear All,

Both engines now running beautifully.

Both low and high pressure diesel pumps have been replaced.

Main engine fuel filters replaced and SEPAR filters changed to 2 micron instead of 10 micron.

All old fuel removed and disposed of in an eco friendly way - probably being used in French tractors now.

Full service on engines with oil and filters changed, belts changed and water impeller replaced.

Injectors were fine as were the common rail components.

I discussed the fuel issue with the marina supplier and was told they only guarantee their fuel for 9 months, which came as a surprise to me.

Marine Motors were brilliant, polite, helpful and all in all a delight to work with.

A nightmare caused by the pandemic but solved with logic, analysis and professionalism.

Many thanks to everyone who helped me via this forum.
