True, Andraitx is full of Germans but so is Portals. The only difference is that the Germans in Portals are all a peculiar orange colour. I think they all use the same fake tan

Port Adriano is starting to look pretty good, some nice restaurants there as well, not too far from Palma and plenty of places locally to have a day trip to.

The Baleares are sometimes nasty, very nasty especially in the fall and winter.

This is why Soller not very good for wintering.

Port Adriano may be an option; their sales dont seem very strong and they may giive you a good deal ...

The new outer harbour is not very popular with the big boats as the storm waves wash over the new wall and cause damage.

Without doubt the new shop development in the centre of the marina is superb but I would not consider a permanent mooring unless it was in the old part of the original marina where space is at premium.

Portals would be my pick...purely on location location location. Close to the airport and with lots of great anchorages on your doorstep...and good restaurants. Its still quite lively during the winter too...because some marinas are like ghost towns out of season!

We survived one of the Andraitx storms in October 1979. We were moored stern on to the public quay, but moved out to anchor inside the outer wall using 2 anchors on one chain. My back was never the same again after taking them in but at least the boat was unharmed.
