After six months slog, have transformed an inanimate lump of cast iron into a functioning V8 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif and first opportunity for 'sea' trial is Sunday evening-hoping that I will be floating by about 8.30pm-and as the boat's in Gosport, was thinking of perhaps popping in to PS for a celebratory drink...what's the form? I know there's a lock, can I just roll up and ask to come in and tie up for an hour? Mind you, might be a bit too much of a challenge in a 'new' boat! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

But why not call them on 80 and ask for a short stay on the outside visitors pontoon.
This avoids the lock - there is loads of room today as the Sunsail fleet is Round the Island racing [ QUOTE ]

Wrong! he's talking Sunday when the forty Sunsail yachts could be causing mayhem outside. And with LW at 1605 there could still be queues waiting to lock through.

It will be dark too, not funny! Best avoided IMHO.

Hope to be there before dark-it's the longest day after all!
Perhaps Gunwharf and talking to QHM and identifying the correct buoy to cross at-never having sailed Portsmouth harbour before-could be a bit much in an untried boat.
If there's a visitors pontoon at PS may mosey up for a look.
Thanks for the input-anyone going to be around Sun eve to join us in raising a glass /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ?
