Port on French Mediterranean coast

I‘m looking for a (not too expensive) port on the French Mediterranean coast to leave my boat for one month this summer. Somewhere between Antibes and Marseille would be my preference as I’m crossing from Corsica, but I guess further West is cheaper? I wonder if they do mensual contracts in the high season? Anybody got an idea?

They don't.

In July/August a lot of ports even limit the maximum stay afloat to 2 or 3 days.

You might have better luck hauling out for a month.
Would be cheaper too.

Look further west. Port Leucate, Canet en Roussillon will almost certainly have space and would do a month contract. You could also try Frontignan. Sete will probably have space upstream of the bridges which only open a couple of times per day. You might get lucky with Cap d'Adge.

Port Rosas in Spain will almost certainly have space, but that is a long way from Corsica and also 50% more expensive than the western French med ports.

Thank you. I was afraid that would be the case. Haul out is expensive though and the boat doesn‘t need it. Anyway, where would you recommend? Allemand at Grau d‘Agde?

Thank you. I will try to contact these places. I didn’t know Frontignan had a sea port. I have been on the canal port when I had a motorboat ten years ago. Sete upstream, you mean on the Etang de Thau?

I was in Rosas some years ago. I thought it was expensive and they were rude. They were pushing me out in a strong wind when they could have let me stay two hours more to wait for the wind to go down. I’m definitely not going back there.

I know for a fact that in Canet you're not allowed to stay longer than six days.

Cap d'Agde might be willing to give you a berth, but in July/August you'd be paying the daily visitor rate for the entire month.
For a 36ft boat (like mine) that would be over 1500 Euro for a month.
It's for that very reason I hauled the boat out in Cap d'Agde for 3 weeks in July/August last year when we visited our son and his family across the pond.

No, on the new moorings by the station.
There are some really big yachts there, but it is a pain to get in and out due to the very limited bridge opening times (unless you have the air draft of a small motor boat with a cuddy).

I sail a 35ft boat with 1.5m draft. I guess I could get into the Herault up to Chantiers Allemand. How much did the haul out in Cap d‘Agde cost you?

Paying the daily rate in whatever port on this coast for a month is prohibitive for my budget. As you say, cheaper to haul out. Have to get used to that idea I guess.

Ok, understood. I wrote an email to all marinas from Antibes to Cap d’Agde today. Will see what they say, but I guess Koeketiene is right and if I have to pay visitor’s rate for a full month I have to find another solution.

1. With a 1.5m draft you should be fine to get to Allemand.

2. Last year I paid (IIRC) 320 Euro (out/in and 3 weeks cradle rental). Early April I paid 104 EUR for a 2hr lift/hold/drop.
