That opens up mental scars for me. Next day delivery for a throttle control lever takes 6 days to Tob! The van arrives at 11am at the Post Office and I was waiting on it every morning!

Dismantled the failed pump last night, ordered parts first thing this morning to be couriered to my glasgow address before 9 tomorrow. My sons were due to leave glasgow tomorrow morning to join me, so hopefully should have working engine by Wed evening. But really no issue, enjoying a fantastic peaceful evening here

Sorry to hear about your problems, but there's worse places to be. We made it to Stornoway yesterday. No place on their pontoons (all local boats), no leccy, and no water. Still, it's a nice place and we like it.

I would recommend the Thai restaurant opposite the police station in Stornoway. Bring your own drink as they don't have a drinks license.

Where did you finish up mooring? There are limited options if you can't get onto the pontoons there, and I'd be interested to know where you finished up if it happens to me next time I visit.

Harbourmaster put us rafted alongside a large (60+ft) local charter yacht on the ferry pier on the other side from the linkspan. OK, but subject to a bit of swell. There are plans for 40 more pontoon berths "later this year".
Totally agree with recommendation re Thai restaurant. Black pudding shop nearby as well.
