Port de Pollenca

not sure that's quite right place the op is talking about...... you can use the moll transit which is cheap C. £15 a night for a 40 foot yacht max stay this time of year 3 days. but I've never seen anything bigger than just over 40 foot on the quay. never any mobo's just us yachts.

there is a yacht club / marina over the opp side, sorry don't know the number or price at present.

then again I could be talking rubbish :)

They go to 15m on the online system, we stayed there a few nights - plenty of mobos. We use the public quays most of the time - the main attraction being the simple online booking process.

You could go to the yacht club I suppose, but I am sure it would costs more, and you can use their pool etc anyway when you eat / drink. Avoid the cafe on the Moll Transit - the bloke is MISERABLE! He was also horrified we bought a drink to use his wifi. There was no other reason to drink there!

Also dont forget the Poseidon buoys just outside the harbour - we spent a lovely few days there.

there is a really nice Riva superamerica at San Remo which is not far, swmbo wants to give up her job , rent our house out and move to Malloroca, couple of our friends are buying houses out in Pollenca, we can not afford one of them 700k-1.5M, so a boat would suit me fine!

Tom

ps any other 40+ mobo would be good

AIDY do you live on board? tell me more about Palma?

Tom

No just enjoy the delights of Birmingham / luton / palma airport most months in the summer :)

this may help post earlier this week.

http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?362518-Berthing-costs-in-the-Med-Majorca.

palma is a lovely city especially the old town and the tram to soller, palma would not be my favourite place to moor a boat on the island.

I'm a big fan of pollenca and alcudia and cala 'dor but 1hour from the airport

Price for us last week was 160 euros - one night inc electricity and water
That was for 20m stern berth on the outside wall facing the buoys

When I checked the prices earlier this year Pollensa weren't interested in doing a monthly deal for June
They just quoted their daily rate
We ended up in Alcudia for the month
Actually, I think I prefer Alcudia to Pollensa - much more sheltered IMO

Hope that helps

Tom,

I've just noticed the prices of the houses your friends are buying.

Very few villas sell in that range nowadays and property has never been cheaper nor more plentiful in Mallorca.

You could pick up a bargain in the Pollenca area and still keep a sensible boat in the marina.

Really suggest you go and visit and trawl though the buying prices.

Doug
