So the plan is to get up early and hit the boulangerie and then go at day break....Port-Cros is the smallest of the three main islands of Porquerolles. It’s extremely beautiful and in summer resembles a tropical island....it’s very small and so is it’s harbour and places in port are limited, it’s a sunny clam day (according to the frequently wrong forecast) and a weekend to boot...so we have to see. It’s the centre of a Marine National Park so no anchoring is permitted....and all it’s restaurants will probably be closed...hence to rush to the bakers to get something for lunch...there’s no electricity on the quay and generators are forbidden (and I don’t want to fire up the gas stove)....you also can’t discharge any water into the bay...so brush your teeth into a bucket.
The highlights are the three (or four ?) forts (which will probably be closed for visitors) the rugged walks in the dense bush with fabulous views....I hope my knee, which I have been gently rehabbing holds up.
The reason that it’s a day trip is not because I have an aversion to cold food....I’m just terrified of going to bed without my electric blanket on...
Pictures to follow

Oh no ! We are being inundated with tourists…I saw three people get off the ferry !

Two were crew and got back on…phew !

It’s 10am and the sun is really giving off a lot of heat now…and no wind at all…mind you I think my retinas have had enough for today

Well, it was a scorcher….we went for a long rugged walk and pushed my dodgy knee to the limit…and now we are nearly home in time for dinner 😃

Bouba, Thank you for those images. I went to the Porquerolles on a short trip many moons ago and was enchanted by them. I fully intended to return for a longer stay but, as is often the case, life got in the way. Your shots have captured the memory.
