I note there do not seem to be as many threads and posts on the fora as hithertofore - not grumbling as I couldn't keep up and then gave up trying, happy now as I can just about cope - life is too short

I have noticed that. I think it is a combination of several factors -

A lot of people are away sailng

A few are so upset by the changes in the forum that they have gone off in a sulk

I suspect that some of the more aggressive participants have had their cards marked as the usual hot topics are producing genuine debate instead of insults.

I too see a change in the forums. I haven't been on as much as I have lots of stuff to sort out, but the light-heartedness seems to have evaporated and some of the threads are taking on a seriously old-school tenor (Flag Etiquette)

I think this forum has had its day. All the good posters who I enjoyed reading and who made me laugh have gone away. I think they should just close it down now and be done with it.

Don't start with that attitude.
A witty range of diverse opinion on most topics, a liberal helping of old salts and their collective wisdom, the odd minx with her salacious insight to arouse me and plenty of people who spurn politics in favour of sailing talk, gossip and advice. That's what this forum has and that's what I need so long may it continue.

Of course you can, but the sooner you "get over it" the better!
One hope that you will be encouraged to do so by the postings.
Whether this one helps, is debateable but probably not worth debating.
