I'm looking for a late lunch watering hole for a Saturday or Sunday on the Quay or more likely in the old town. Something better than a steak house or a pizza, bistro-ish at say not more than £20 a head plus wine for two courses. Somewhere that doesn't want to give us the bums rush at 3.00 and where we can sit down to eat between 2.00 and 2.30 p.m. Party of 8.

Then all I need is settled weather and everyone available!

Thanks Moose and Brendon, I don't care for fish, they can stay under my keel and enjoy life, so the warehouse looks hopeful. The weathers hopeful to, however the Mem'Sahib is showing signs of reluctance.

She doesn't come to the boat except with her friends, and this is supposed to be for "our" friends who have been demanding a day out on a lifeboat. We'll see.

Mind you she ran me down to the boat two weeks ago, and as I was unloading the trolley thing she said, "So which end's the front then?" It does go a BIT pointy at the stern but really....

She's never been quite the same since she failed to get off with the warp at Falmouth Boat Company's wharf, hedged her bets and found herself doing the splits over a widening gap of Cornwall. (That was in 1982 I think, in 25 years of boat ownership she not up to 25 days yet).

Also, although I really do like people quite a lot, I don't want them overnight on my boat unless I like them very much indeed, so this more or less limits me to my brother, my wife who never comes, and some nephews. Net result of all this is that when messing about locally I'm to be found single handed mostly.
