Having had a bashing coming from the Solent yesterday I was going on to Weymouth but instead think I will go into Poole from Studland, by the by, I think the new eco moorings are TOPS, I always struggle to find a anchorage with somewhere to take the mutt for a piddle....anyone know anywhere protected from this westerly .
 
Judging by the forecast, I don't think you'll require too much protection. Bloody Alley which is on the south of Brownsea Island is very nice, and it's easy to go ashore for a National Trust cream tea.

Other options are South Deep if you need the depth, Arne Beach or the north side of Brownsea Island, but you aren't allowed to land there.
 
Not very easy to get ashore at Shipstal around low water. Shallow and stoney mud. Fairly sure dogs not allowed on Brownsea Island but you could probably walk on south beach (blood alley) without being challenged, just don't go inland. Could go up the river toward Wareham, Ridge Wharf 'marina' or Redclyffe Yacht club perhaps.

Yes of course, I forgot about Lake Pier. I've only been by car and never anchored or landed there myself but a couple of chums had swinging moorings shown in your link. The carpark behind the pier has public toilets and often an ice cream van. I've seen the rip through between the beach and the moorings, something to watch for perhaps.
