Anyone else taking part? The more the merrier, and the better they will know what is realistic and safe.
This is the advance briefing from the HM:
The objective of the trial is to provide the bridge operators, through BOB, with guidance on safe capacity within the basin when both bridges are in operation.
A maximum of 29 vessels have safely waited in the basin to date. It should be noted that this is with Jenkins vessels in situ. And no short term berths.
09:00 Briefing by Harbour Master at Cobbs Quay pontoon
09:30 Vessels proceed to basin
09:30 HM proceeds to Bridges Control Room
10:00 Vessels hold station in basin
10:20 Other vessels arrive for 10:30 lift
10:30 Bridge lift
Following notes:
· VHF Channel 12 to be used throughout
· 2 vessels from PHC
· 2 vessels from MVS
· 13 vessels from Cobbs Quay Marina
· Other vessels (number unknown) for 10:30 bridge lift
Vessels taking part in the trial will be requested to keep close (within safe limits) to simulate the basin being filled to capacity. We need to try and establish what is realistic with safety very much in mind. The 29 already achieved in current conditions, with no negative feedback, is encouraging.
