Hello all,

In May's issue of MBM, which includes a special trailboat section, we're asking the following question: Are small boats more fun?

We want to hear from people on both sides of the argument. Maybe the romance of small boats is just wistful dreaming, and big boats offer so much more. Or perhaps you're in a big boat now, and long for a simpler time when fuel bills didn't cost the earth. Whatever your take on it, let us know at stewart_campbell@ipcmedia.com

If you want to take part, don't forget to include a hi-res photo of yourself!

Hmm, I wrote a sniplet for the last one... let me think if i'm too lazy to write another one. Would be interesting giving a comparison between an S23 and a Thundercat /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Stewart, I'm sorry, but this is a forum, and where we discuss stuff after all that's what forums are for.

It's not like putting a notice in a shop window. Commode for sale, ring 123456.

If we all did that, well there'd be nothing worth bothering with here at all.

Would it not be beter, just to ask here, then ask if you can include some of the comments in the mag. I'm sure you'd get a much better responce.

Can I do an article on How I bought a brand new boat and how crap the sales people are and how bad they treating customers, and how my covers are held on with cable ties some 12 and a bedroom door that doesnt shut and 50 emails later im no closer to haveng it fixed etc etc.

Im waiting for the new tv series, after Builders from Hell, then Rogue traders, Matt Allwright is doing Boats from hell and Im the first one on it.

wow I feel better now

I think 'hlb's' gotta point here. If this was put up as a question from a new user.

The first reply would be, "What do you call a small boat?"

Remember if you've gotta 50 footer someone will soon turn up with a 100 +.

So do you mean trailer based small or marina based small? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Haydn,

People are more than welcome to post what they like about small/big boats here. I am simply soliciting comment for a feature in MBM. There aren't many places better than this to do that. If you want to comment, email me, if you don't, then don't.

I could just ask people to add to the thread and print the responses, but we need photos, and details of their boat. All this is easier over email, rather than me chasing people up through PMs, etc...

RogerRat - Probably should have been more explicit. In this instance, we would consider small boats to be anything up to 20-25 feet.

Yep but I don't think you have had much response.

If it had been a normal post. I would have been more than happy to contribute, having had little boats and a bit bigger. My first was 8ft fer Christ sake.

Some of us just love what we do and are quite happy to share. But not happy to shed blood sweat and tears down an email, that might well get binned. And for what. A lottery ticket that we might appear in the mag??

Been in the mag many times, pictures and all.

What would be nice is a PM.

We noticed your post on the forum, and wondered if you would mind if we used it in the mag, maybe elaborating on it a bit. A picture of you would be nice, but quite understand if you don't want publicity. Please supply the best you got.!!

I failed miserably on the High resolution question. Is Debs camera high?? Or my vid cam with photo thingy?? Or do I need to go to the BBC to get a proper one.

So it's like, us chase about, perfect dictionary and the exact terminology for the artical you want. Then a flash photo. Right.

Your way may be indubitably be easy. But aint getting any responce from myself.

No worries Haydn, we won't be needing a response from you. Thankfully, my request for comment in the original post has generated plenty of emails. If anybody else would like to contribute, however, feel free to get in touch.

And just for the record - I do often contact people via PM and ask them if I can use their forum comment for the magazine. This happens when there's is an existing topic on the forum that fits with what we're covering in the magazine. It just so happened that this time, such a thread didn't exist. Hence my request.

If you remember Haydn, I once contacted you in this way and asked for your help, which you very kindly offered.

Stewart

So just to be clear Hadyn, IPC are allowed to provide a free forum for us all to use, but they're not allowed to politely invite people to contribute to the magazine if they'd like to /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well, if the question had been asked in a different way. There would have been reams and reams of stuff about big and little boats here. As it is, theres zilch. Just some half baked emails maybe?? from folk (high res Photo included) who want there names in a mag.

Please stop ranting on about nothing. If it weren't for the magazine this forum would not exist, and if it weren't for people wanting to be in it then there would simply be nothing to read.
I suggest you suck your head in, apologise to Stewart, antifoul your boat and sail away somewhere where there is no internet connection!
Sorry, but these forums are useful and I get really cross when people take it all far too seriously.

I suggest that you go and have a large gin whilst you quietly fume about what I've just said, but hey ho!!
