Pontoon mooring recommendation in Plymouth

We sailed into Sutton harbour Marina on Friday and have left the boat to come home for a few days. We are going back tomorrow and will have our 32kg dog with us. Sutton harbour is certainly full of life, but a less busy location while we look around Plymouth would suit us better but needs to have a walk ashore pontoon to get the dog on and off!
Any suggestions?

Mayflower Marina is less busy. Also not bad for dog walking if you head 'up river' so to speak.
 
Both Sutton and King Point offer some of the most expensive visitor berths you can find.

PYH is an excellent option for dog walking with a good, cheap ferry to the Barbican. The Mount Batten Inn, by the ferry, serves a fine pint of draught Bass which is a rare thing these days.
 
Thanks all. I was not aware of King Point. Looks like Mayflower or PYH would suit us and the dog best for the next couple of days.

Been a year or two but the Dolphin used to be the place for draught Bass. PYH is a good quiet marina though.

PYH offers great dog walking territory, along with a decent pub/restaurant as well as another 2 good pubs in Turnchapel, assuming the Borringdon is still open.

Take a walk along the coast towards Bovisand and you'll enjoy some of the finest views in the country, as well as lots of space for pooch to exercise.
 
Highly recommend PYH, the best marina in Plymouth in my humble opinion. Super staff, excellent facilities and access, can't fault it.

The whole place is amazingly quiet and peaceful yet the city centre is only a 5 minute boat taxi ride away. The coast walks are stunning. Plus I'm addicted to my pie and chips at the Mount Batten.
 
Now in PYH as widely recommended. Very peaceful. Should have done the provisions shoping before leaving Sutton marina!

Yes, the Borringdon is still open.
 
From Mayflower, it's a 10/15 minute walk to the Cremyll Ferry. That gives you access to Mount Edgcumbe Park and the coastal path out to Penlee point, Rame Head and beyond. Mount Wise park for short walks close by. Devonport Park a little further.

Completely agree that the walking from PYH towards Bovisand is good. Access to the beach close to PYH, at Jenny Cliff and Bovisand.
