Who else remembers the 'famous' story printed in one of YBW's editorial columns, years back, about the ravenous polyestermites that can infest a GRP yacht and cause it to rot from the insides out, like the trad boaters' 'gribble' worm....?

That may not have been so far-fetched.

I find the ones that turn plastic into alcohol clearly the most promising.

Perhaps we could pesuade Greta to eat plastic.
Keeping her jaws occupied on something useful might just reduce the noise pollution she produces.
Mind you, what she might extrude on that diet could be even worse.
I wonder what it would turn out to be?
