polycell 3 in 1 mould & mildew remover...

Yes, it has no bleach in it. However, it's been reformulated recently and now only contains benzalkonium chloride (a biocide), whereas it used also to contain disodium octaborate (a fungicide). The older stuff, if you can find it anywhere, is better stuff to use.

Morning all,
Is this ok to use on cloth, i.e. without bleaching?
TIA,
Dave.

Last year I was forced to remove my laminated canvas canopy and jet wash it because it was so bad. From advice on here, and while the canvas was still wet I doused it in standard diluted Dettol (the orange scented one). Every 5 or 6 weeks I spray the canopy on the inside with the same solution and this does seem to stop the spores from growing.

Another thing that I learned was NOT to use Fabsil on the outside as it ruins clear PVC window material.

Not an expert of course but appears to work for me without bleaching.

Sounds typical .... we must not under any circumstances kill that lovely fungus growing in our boat

:D Of course we mustn't!

I use Boracol now anyway, it contains both benzalkonium chloride and disodium octaborate and is brilliant on teak, canvas and leather wheel covering.
